Take care of your skin before applying makeup.

This tip is ultra-crucial. You’ll want a glowing canvas for the full face of makeup and touch-ups required throughout the day. In the months leading to the big day, you may already have started a regimen of facials, a wonderful way to clear and brighten your skin. The night before, or the morning of your wedding, exfoliate thoroughly with a gentle mask. Apply a moisturizer or hydrating facial serum to your face, neck and décolleté. Lastly, end with a primer on top for a smooth, radiant surface.

Eat healthy and hydrate generously.

Get a glow from the inside out by drinking plenty of water. Stay on the light, healthy side for any snacks or meals, with nourishing whole grains, protein and fruit. Make sure to avoid troublemakers like alcohol, sugar, and salt. Combined with any stressful jitters, those culprits can lead to exhaustion, puffiness or bloating — not a flattering look! Save your appetite after the ceremony and pictures. You will feel and look better by hydrating and eating smart.

Have your day-of beauty kit at hand.

Be ready for any beauty situation. A kit can include important items like your lip and eye color, finishing spray, oil blotters, baby wipes, cotton balls, anything you might reach into for makeup refreshes throughout the day. Have your maid of honor keep this beauty supply close at hand, whenever needed. If you’re low on time, you can also buy premade bridal beauty kits equipped with must-have items.
